Patients and visitors should wear face masks upon arrival at VCU Health
April 24, 2020Adult and pediatric patients arriving for outpatient appointments, as well as approved visitors, will be asked to wear face masks that cover the nose and mouth when coming to VCU Health. For those who arrive without a mask of their own, a disposable Level 1 medical face mask will be provided at points of entry.
The CDC offers the following guidance when it comes to face masks:
- Cloth face coverings should not be placed on children under the age of 2, nor on individuals who cannot remove a face mask without assistance.
- Patients and visitors can find helpful tips for how to wear a cloth face covering on the CDC website.
These guidelines will apply to VCU Medical Center downtown as well as all VCU Health outpatient clinics.
All inpatients will receive Level 1 disposable medical face masks for use in waiting rooms, transportation to procedures and at the discretion of their care teams.
